QWhat's the climate like in Tokyo?
The temperature in Tokyo changes throughout the year, with winter, spring, summer, and autumn as four distinct seasons. There are many chances to enjoy nature in Tokyo.
QWhat about the temperature? What clothes do people wear?
January and February 2-10°C (35-50°F) You will need a coat, gloves, and a scarf. The humidity often makes it feel even colder than this. March 5-12°C (41-53°F) You will definitely still need your coat, but maybe you can leave the gloves and scarf at home. April 10-18°C (50-64°F) You can get by with a sweater or cardigan. You may still need a coat some days. May 15-22°C (59-71°F) A cardigan or long sleeve shirt is enough. June 18-25°C (64-77°F) Short sleeve and long sleeve shirts are appropriate. July and August 22-30°C (71-86°F) Short sleeve shirts are best. September 20-27°C (68-80°F) Short or long sleeve shirt. October 15-20°C (59-68°F) A long sleeve shirt or cardigan is recommended. November 9-17°C (48-62°C) For most days, a jacket or sweater is enough, but you may need a coat for the colder days. December 3-12°C (37-53°F) You will need a coat. Some days you may also need a scarf and gloves.
QWhat language do people use day-to-day in Tokyo?
Generally Japanese, but within the city many people also use English. At Sakura Hotel, all of our staff speak at least 2 languages, so if you are worried about being able to communicate, just ask us beforehand.
QWill my electronic devices work in Japan?
The most common electrical current used in Japan is 100V 50Hz. The shape of outlets varies by country as well, so be sure to check to see if your plugs will fit as well. In case you arrive and the plugs for your devices do not fit the outlet, we sell plugs at Sakura Hotel.
QWhat are business hours for most banks in Tokyo?
Bank hours in Japan are 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Please inquire with your specific bank.
QWhat happens if I need to make an emergency phone call?
When calling from your own country, please put the country code before the phone number you wish to dial. The country code for Japan is 81. If you have an emergency while in Japan, the emergency number is 110. For guests of Sakura Hotel, please inform our staff if you are having problems of any kind.
QWhat about hours for restaurants and bars? And do I leave a tip?
Most restaurants are open from 10:00AM to 10:00PM, but convenience stores, some restaurants, and Sakura Cafe are all open 24 hours a day. Culturally, people in Japan do not tip. Sometimes there is a service charge included in the bill at restaurants, so a tip is not necessary.
About reservation
QCan we check in before the check-in time?
Checking in to the room is possible from the check-in time, but you can leave your luggage with us before the check-in time.
QI don't come from a VISA-waiving country. Can I get a confirmation from you to apply for a VISA?
We are sorry that only individuals who already possess valid VISAs issued by the Japanese government could reserve our hotels. We are afraid we cannot provide any confirmation to apply for Japanese VISA.
QIs late check-out possible?
Late check-out is possible. SAKURA HOTEL IKEBUKURO and SAKURA HOTEL HATAGAYA An extra cost of 30% of ordinary room rate allows you to stay in the room until 12:00 p.m. An extra cost of 50% of ordinary room rate allows you to stay in the room until 2:00 p.m. SAKURA HOTEL JIMBOCHO An additional 1,000 yen per hour can be added to the ordinary room rate to extend the stay up to 2hours. SAKURA HOTEL NIPPORI An extra costs of 2,000yen allows you to stay in the room until 12:00 p.m. An extra costs of 3,000yen allows you to stay in the room until 1:00 p.m. An extra costs of 4,000yen allows you to stay in the room until 2:00 p.m. SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA An extra cost of 30% of ordinary room rate allows you to extend your stay by 2 hours.
QHow long are bookings accepted in advance?
Bookings are accepted at a maximum of 12 months in advance. Groups bookings (10 people or more) are accepted at any time.
QAre there non-smoking rooms available?
All of our rooms are non-smoking.
QWe will visit Tokyo as a group. How can we make a reservation?
Please send us an inquiry through our Group Inquiry page. We will reply to you with our offers. Please be reminded that we have different cancellation and reservation policy for groups.
QThere are 2 of us. Can we stay in a Single room?
Single rooms are for 1 person only. Please reserve a double or twin room if you are 2 people. Children 6 and under can stay with one adult in a single room.
About charge
QWhat is your Child Policy?
Children 6 and under will not be charged as long as they do not need beds, and anyone over 7 will be charged normal rate.
QHow should I pay?
Please make payment when you check in. We accept cash (only Japanese YEN) and major credit cards (VISA, MASTER, AMEX, JCB, UnionPay, and paypal) Money exchange machine is also available. (foreign currencies to Japanese Yen only.)
QDo I need to pay any deposit to make a reservation?
Basically, no. In case of group reservations, we may ask you to pay advanced deposits.
QThere was a small charge of undetermined origin when I booked a room with a credit card. What is it?
We ask credit card companies to verify credit card information provided by customers. This is done by charging 1 yen against the credit card company to verify whether or not it is possible to charge 1 yen. Customers are not charged in this procedure. However, this procedure may temporarily leave a record; these records will be deleted from the customer's records in five to seven business days and no charges will occur against the customer. Please contact your credit card company if you have questions regarding charges of unknown origin.

QDo you have a safety box inside the room?
SAKURA HOTEL NIPPORI No, we don’t have a safety box inside the room. However, we'll keep your valueable at the frontdesk. SAKURA HOTEL IKEBUKURO No, we don’t have a safety box inside the room. However, we'll keep your valueable at the frontdesk. SAKURA HOTEL HATAGAYA No, we don’t have a safety box inside the room. However, we'll keep your valueable at the frontdesk. SAKURA HOTEL JIMBOCHO No we do not. However, we do have a safety box in our reception area where we can store your valuable items (such as a passport, laptop, etc.). SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA All the rooms except twin rooms have lockers inside the rooms. Please bring your own padlock or buy one at the front desk to use the lockers.
QDo you have private bathrooms?
SAKURA HOTEL IKEBUKURO All type of private room have their own private bathroom. SAKURA HOTEL HATAGAYA Yes, we do. All rooms have a private bathroom.request. SAKURA HOTEL JIMBOCHO Unfortunately, none of our hotel rooms have private bathrooms. Each floor has gender-separate shower stalls and bathroom stalls available 24 hours. SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA No, we don't. Each floor has shared bathrooms and toilets, and they can be used 24 hours. SAKURA HOTEL NIPPORI No, we don't. Each floor has shared bathrooms and toilets, and they can be used 24 hours.
QDo you have laundry facilities? A
Yes, we have washing machines and dryers.
QDo you have Internet access?
SAKURA HOTEL IKEBUKURO Wireless internet is available in all rooms. Also desktop PC is available at frontdesk. SAKURA HOTEL JIMBOCHO Yes, free wireless internet is available in all rooms. We also have computers in our café with internet connection that can be used 24 hours for no charge. SAKURA HOTEL HATAGAYA Yes, free wireless internet is available in all rooms. We also have PC in our café with internet connection that can be used 24 hours for no charge. SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA Yes. You can use our PC in the lobby for free of charge. Wireless internet is also available for free. SAKURA HOTEL NIPPORI Wireless internet is in all rooms and cafe area for free.
QDo you provide foods and drinks?
Yes, we have a 24 hour cafe at our hotels, where we provide breakfast, other meals, snacks, alcohol and soft drinks.
QDo you provide linen and towels?
SAKURA HOTEL IKEBUKURO Linen and towels are included in all private rooms, and we provide linens for free and rent a bath towel for 100 yen for Dormitory rooms.。 SAKURA HOTEL HATAGAYA Linen and towels are included in all rooms. SAKURA HOTEL JIMBOCHO All private rooms come with a small face towel and Yukata (a Japanese-style bathrobe/sleepwear). Dormitory rooms do not come with a towel or Yukata. You can rent bath towels at the reception for 100 yen that may be kept until the end of your stay. SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA We provide linens for free and rent a bath towel for 100 yen. SAKURA HOTEL NIPPORI We provide linens and towls for free.
QIs breakfast included in the room rate?
Breakfast is included in most of our plans. There might be some plans that does not have breakfast included, however, we provide continental breakfast at quite a reasonable price. For more information, please visit our hotel's cafe page.

No, we have no curfews. Our doors and reception are open 24 hours.
QCan I ask you for some advice about my travel plans?
Please visit frontdesk anytime, and ask us about your travle plans.
QBy what time should I check in?
Check-in is possible even after midnight as we are open 24 hours. Please contact us in advance if you will arrive after 9:00 PM in order to hold your reservation.
QCan I leave my luggage after the check-out time? Also, if I go to another city for a few days, can I leave my luggage while I am away?
Yes, you can leave your luggage, except valuables, at our hotels.
QCan I send my luggage or mail to your hotel before I check in?
Yes, you can. Please contact us in advance by email/phone and also make sure that the luggage/mail has your reservation name and check-in date written on it.
